Christmas Cards, Christmas Cards

I had my Christmas Card class on Sunday and it was so much fun. Everyone got to make 25 cards. There were 5 different designs. Here's a look at what we made.

I "C.A.S.E.d" this card from right out of the holiday catalog.

This is using the the same stamp set and punch as the previous card. I love the little bird.

This card was so much fun. I love this stamp set! It is so versatile.

Of course I had two bird cards. :)

And I had to have an embossed card Mmmm... gold embossing powder.

So my next class will be December 14th. We will be making gift tag cards! It should be fun! Stay tuned for more details.

Here's what we made in my Blendabilities Class

Just a quick post to show what we did in my last class. The main project featured the Blended Bloom stamp and was a journal. I think they turned out quite nicely.

Then we made a card in case someone wanted to gift their journal. It is inspired by my swap from the Unite and Excite event.

The Blendabilities feature on this card is that we colored the rhinestone green. That's one of the awesome things these markers can do.

Unite and Excite Event

A couple of weekends ago I had the chance to attend my first Stampin' Up! event. It was just a small one but still loads of fun! Demonstrators from all over New Mexico came to share ideas and stamp together. I got to go with my awesome upline Amber.

When we got there they had some little paper crafted treats waiting for us.These would be fun and simple Halloween treats to make for someone.

We made this super cute project with some of the products from the holiday catalog. I have seen this die cut used before, but never for a pumpkin. How cute is that?

Then something super exciting happened. I won something!!! I won a stamp set from the holiday catalog. Stampin' Up! gives away so many prizes at their events.

Next I did some swapping. Swaps are when you make the front of a card and trade with other demonstrators to get ideas. Here were the swaps I made.

Then just when I thought it couldn't get any better, they did an all attendee give away. We all received the Everyday Occasions kit from the annual catalog. How awesome is that?

Photo birthday card

I really like the set of photo dies I used for this card. They will be great to use for scrap booking because the bigger cutout looks like a polaroid photo and you could put it around a picture. I used pool party and smoky slate for the colors which remind me of winter for some reason. The glitter embossed stamp probably adds to the winter aspect of it. So, I might have to save this card for a winter birthday.

A Sweet Little Journal

So I found these little mini journal looking things at a craft store and thought they would be perfect to make decorative journals out of. They just have lined paper on the inside so they were just what I wanted. I don't know about you, but one of my favorite colors right now is mint and luckily Stampin' Up! has there own mint color called, Pistachio Pudding. I featured this color a lot in this project. I also had to have some burlap! Here is the journal.

Here is the little bird stamp a bit closer. This is from the Four Frames stamp set.

My favorite thing I added to this journal is a ribbon bookmark. How cool is that?

So I wanted to make a card that would work for guys too. I used some browns and our burlap ribbon (which I love). Enjoy!

Layered Birthday Card

I wanted to make a card with a lot of layers. So I used some DSP and card stock and ribbon and let the layering begin. I always enjoy embossing so that there's a bit more flair to a card and I think it really helped this card pop. I used one of Stampin' Up!'s tag punches for the top piece and embossed it with the same pattern that is on the DSP below. Then I used lots of Chevron ribbon throughout. Here's the card.

Below is a closer view of the tag. I really like how this one turned out.

Don't forget to sign up for my Blendabilities class! It's going to be awesome!

Ombre, Chevron Birthday Card

There are two things I love right now; Ombre and Chevron print. So obviously I wanted to make a card with these things featured. I used 2 different stamp sets for this card. The chevron stamp is from the Work of Art stamp set. To give the Ombre effect I stamped it 3 times without re-applying ink. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Sassy Salutations. This card was also made using the card little pre-folded 3 1/2 x 5 cards. Enjoy!

A Week of Birthday Cards

So I realized I had ran out of birthday cards to have on hand and went about making some. This week I will show you some of my favorites. The first one features burlap! Who doesn't love burlap!?! I used the Big Shot and some die cuts to make this super cute flower and put it together with an antique brad and some twine.

For the card, Stampin' Up! sales these really cute pre-folded cards and envelopes. The cards are 3 1/2 x 5 and come in Whisper White or Crumb Cake. I used a Crumb Cake one and cut a small strip of DSP to give it some color. I got the DSP from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stacks. The love the DSP stacks! They come with 48, 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 double sided sheets. There are 4 different kinds double sided sheets, making 8 designs total! And it's only 6.95!!! Here is the completed card.

Some exciting news is that I am starting to offer classes again. Last week I blogged about Blendabilities. I will have a Blendabilities class on September 7th from 3pm-6pm. Here's the scoop:

4th of July (a little late)

Here's a quick post for today. This project was from the June My Paper Pumpkin. It came with paper straws and some fun pinwheels. I was going to my friend's party and decided to make some centerpieces that were also usable. Instead of using the paper straws to craft with I put them in the center pieces for people to use. I got some extra ones as well. The red ones are what came with the project. I just tied bandannas around mason jars and put the pinwheels in them. Super easy and cute.

Blendabilities!

One cannot express the amazement and beauty of these markers. They are a new item this year in the new annual catalog. They are alcohol based and so much fun to play with! They come in a color set of three and look like this.

Basically to use these markers you must embrace your inner child and color! It's all about shadowing and blending the colors together. You don't realize where the time goes and I have had so much fun playing with these. I got the stamp Blended Bloom to start and just colored a bunch of them to practice.

At the end I cut a bunch out and made some cards with the flowers. Enjoy!

My Paper Pumpkin!

So it's been a while since I've blogged. I spent the last year getting my Master's degree and didn't have time to keep up with it. Well, I'm back and excited to share more Stampin Up! fun with you! The latest and greatest thing that I have loved getting from Stampin' Up! is My Paper Pumpkin. It is a monthly subscription and you get a cute little box in the mail that has almost everything you need to complete a paper crafting project.

When you open your box it is looks like this and contains exciting crafting fun! Each month there is a new project and getting my box in the mail and opening it feels a little bit like Christmas!

Here is last month's project. It was one of my favorites. It features one of the new "In Colors" Blackberry Bliss. The great thing about this project is there are several other stamps and you can create birthday cards and thank you cards as well. Plus a cute little gift box! I love paper boxes!!!!! This one was so much fun.

You can get started with My Paper Pumpkin fun soon by subscribing at mypaperpumpkin.com and indicating me (Cassie Rogers) as your demonstrator. Each month you get a project, a mini ink pad, and a photo-polymer stamp set. Your first set comes with a clear mount block so you have something to put your stamps on. Then you just need some paper snips (scissors), and snail (adhesive). Then you are ready to go! If you don't have snips and snail you can order them through my demonstrator website. lucyslovelies.stampinup.net Happy stamping!
